Mirko Guido

bio

Mirko Guido is an artist working with choreography through various means, including dance, participatory methods, micro-storytelling, text and video. Through his practice he investigates the body as multidirectional and irreducible, a singular interweaving of historicity and intimacy, encounters and places. In recent years he has increasingly adopted participatory methods, creating spaces of encounter and situations of proximity, making the public the instance that initiates and/or influences the course of the work. Mirko holds a Master’s degree in Performative Practices from DOCH/SKH in Stockholm. He has presented his work internationally, and has been artist in residence in centers including: Summer Studios Rosas, Brussels; Work Space Brussels; Kone Foundation Saari Residence, Helsinki; Uferstudios, Berlin; PACT Zollverein, Essen; Duncan Dance Research Center, Athens; Workspace Ricerca X, Turin; Weld – SITE – Danens Hus – ccap – MDT, Stockholm.  As a dancer he has worked with a wide variety of choreographers, engaging in very different choreographic methods/styles/poetics, in dance companies including: Cullberg Ballet (2010-2013), Staatstheater Wiesbaden (2008-2010), Staatstheater Saarbrücken (2006-2008), Tanztheater Bielefeld (2005-2006), Stadttheater Hagen (2005).
