Continuing to research the mutually transformable through performance, text and image making, I am interested to look into, observe and register the notion of the alien, the viral and the infectious as affective, bodily and technological phenomena. In addition to exploring weird fiction as a template for embodied experience, I am curious how the literary character of ‘the scientist’  could work as a score, rather than a script. — Out of nowhere comes a bundle of text, a piece of language. Ominous and threatening, this alien enters (through the ear? or is it the eyes?) and soon it is no longer possible to voice to mouth to speak without housing this intruder.

Marko Gutić Mižimakov (1992) is a visual, performance and text based artist living between Brussels and Zagreb. They are interested in shaping sensory materials through intimate, collaborative and social processes. In their work bodies, as well as digital and palpable objects, are animated, choreographed and sung into non-orientable forms via different media and processes of translation. Often borrowing from queer science fiction they see their work as a speculative technology of mutual transformation. In 2022-23 They were an artistic researcher at A.PASS – Brussels. Currently they are an adjunct faculty member at Paris College of Art in the department of Transdisciplinary New Media.

Silvia Bottiroli

Ripetere, interrompere, sospendere. Il ritmo come principio curatoriale
(Repeating, interrupting, suspending. Rhythm as a curatorial principle)

Silvia Bottiroli is a curator and researcher, working in the field of the live arts and in particular at the intersections of performativity, institutional practices and pedagogies.
She is part of the artistic cohort of Rose Choreographic School in London, teaches at Bocconi University in Milan, and curates, together with Silvia Calderoni, Ilenia Caleo, and Michele Di Stefano, the three-year period 2025-2027 of Short Theatre in Rome.

Within the broader field of research on curating as a choreographic practice, Repeating, interrupting, suspending explores, through an open constellation of case studies (performances, interventions, artistic practices…) rhythm as a curatorial principle, with a particular focus on the relationship between performance practices and public space and on the emergence of forms of political subjectification.

What writings do we use to write?

The research core is located between the body and the word. TEXTSUALITY is the research concept. Another form of sensuality in the space of ambiguity between semantics and sensibility. Writing as a sensory organ, as a relationship between bodies.

If the word is dance, the text is the body and the raw material of the choreographic action.

Writing to refine the the perception, a to actively produce a multitude of meanings, to imagine other worlds, to invent other bodies.

What makes a body a body?

Author, performer. Based between Ferrara and Roma.

She worked without permanent residency in the field of contemporary theater, circus, performing arts, contemporary dance, mainly in unorthodox formats, both creating or taking part in projects.

She trained and worked between: Wroclaw, Berlin, Bruxelles, Roma (DA.RE. Dance Research 2018-2020).
Founder of the collective ALIX MAUTNER. She works for CollettivO CineticO since 2018.

Inclined towards relational devices, to inhabit theatrical and public spaces, to agitate the body. She is part of the portion of humans for whom writing is a sensory organ.

The research project starts with leaving behind anatomical atlases and maps of the subtle body coming from ancient oriental traditions, for it looks at inventing multi-dimensional charts which can overcome the habitual way in which we think the centre of our body. Re-considering the possibilities and the perceptual organization of the body, the project will experiment with how to direct attention and awareness in and out of the body, so to give birth to creatures, moved by personal impulses and new logics. Moving in between writing, mapping and embodying, I wish to discover some generative elements that can be shareable inside a community.

Anna Basti

Independent dancer, performer and researcher with a background that sinks into classical and contemporary dance. To date, her research focus is on the body, a complex and porous organism informed by the context of reference in which it lives. This research is articulated through project platforms using different formats, oriented primarily toward working and sharing knowledge with bodies that are not literate in the field of movement techniques.

Barb Bordoni / artist and performer
A heterogeneous training in art and performance (Accademia di Brera, Iuav di Venezia) accompanies a political self-learning that draws from transfeminist ethics and libertarian thought. They are the co-founder of the collective call monica (Santarcangelo festival, Swiss Institute) and co_author of the project Jungle, winner of Cross Project 2023. Since 2019 they have been actively working in the Italian art scene, especially in cultural contexts connected to the territory.

Martina Ruhsam

Martina Ruhsam works as a dance theoretician, author and artist. Since 2016 she is a teaching and research assistant at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at the Justus Liebig-University in Gießen (in the MA-program Choreography and Performance). Before that, she was working for seven years as a freelance choreographer in various collaborative constellations – primarily in Vienna and Ljubljana. From 2008 until 2009 she was deputy head of the theory department of Tanzquartier Wien. In 2011 her monography Kollaborative Praxis: Choreographie was published by Turia + Kant. She was a member of the editorial collectives of Corpus and MASKA. Martina Ruhsam completed her doctorate at the Justus Liebig-University in 2021. For her dissertation Moving Matter. Non-Human Bodies in Contemporary Choreographies, she received the Tanzwissenschaftspreis NRW 2021.

Bojana Kunst

Bojana Kunst is a philosopher, dramaturg and performance theoretician. She works as a professor at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Justus Liebig University Giessen, where she is leading an international master program Choreography and Performance. She was a researcher at the University of Ljubljana and a guest researcher at the University of Antwerp (2002). She was a DAAD guest professor at the University of Hamburg (2009 – 2012). She has lectured and taught seminars, workshops and laboratories in various academic institutions, theatres and artistic organizations across Europe, and has continuously worked with independent artistic initiatives and groups of artists. Her research interests are contemporary performance and dance, art theory and philosophy of contemporary art. She is a member of the editorial board of Maska Magazine, Amfiteater and Performance Research. She published Artist at Work, Proximity of Art and Capitalism, Zero Books, Winchester, London, 2015 and The Life of Art. Transversal lines of Care (in Slowenian 2021, and German 2023).

Marion Boudier

Marion Boudier accompanies Joël Pommerat and La Compagnie Louis Brouillard as dramaturge for theatrical and opera creations. She is also a lecturer in theatre studies at the Université Picardie Jules Verne, working on contemporary textual and scenic writing, dramaturgy, creative processes, and links between art, pedagogy and research. Currently on delegation at the Institut Universitaire de France, she is developing the ADOC (L’acteur-ice et le Document) and PLS (Performing Knowledge, with Chloé Déchery) projects. He received the Syndicat de la critique award for Avec Joël Pommerat, volume 2, published by Actes Sud in 2019.

Danzatrice, coreografa, formatrice e counselor, è da oltre 30 anni attiva in ambito artistico e pedagogico. Unisce le proprie competenze in direzione di una visione evolutiva dell’essere umano. Al centro della sua ricerca, lo spazio e l’umano, nel complesso rapporto con il corpo, la presenza (non soltanto scenica) e il movimento. Negli ultimi anni ha posto il proprio focus sulla questione della risonanza e della risposta, lavorando sulla linea di confine tra danzatore e spettatore. Tra gli incontri più significativi dal punto di vista formativo, si annoverano quelli con Anna Sagna per il teatro-danza, con Raffaella Giordano (per la quale è interprete degli spettacoli Quore, premio UBU 2000, e Senza Titolo), con Claude Coldy per la danza sensibile e con Danio Manfredini per il teatro. Accompagna nel proprio processo creativo numerose compagnie e artisti singoli, in Italia e in Francia. Conduce da oltre 3 decenni laboratori nelle scuole di ogni ordine e grado: attualmente è attiva nelle scuole superiori all’interno del progetto Educare alla Bellezza | Media Dance di Lavanderia a Vapore, come formatrice e coordinatrice, con gruppi-classe e gruppi-insegnanti. Cura inoltre il progetto Solitudo. Visioni per una comunità creativa insieme a Raffaella Tommellini e Fabio Castello. Insieme a Rita Fabris è ideatrice e formatrice del Percorso Danzatori di Comunità. Collabora come formatrice all’interno del progetto Tracce lasciate ad Arte di Interreg Italia Svizzera e al progetto Educatori Senza Frontiera di Exodus. È coreografa del gruppo Eskenè, per i progetti La Passione secondo Matteo, Stazionando, e Progetto 900. Realizza gli assoli mama non mama, Specifiche Atipie e Dichiarazione d’amore all’interno del festival La Piattaforma di Torino. Pratica il counseling ed è formatrice presso la Scuola Superiore di Counseling.
